Point Reyes Hike

  • Point Reyes Hike Fire Lane Tr Point Reyes Station, CA, 94956 United States (map)

***Pt. Reyes Hike****

Tomales Point Coastal Hike at Point Reyes and Drakes Bay oyster farm picnic.

The narrow, windswept sliver of Point Reyes National Seashore ending at Tomales Point has only one main trail, which rolls gently for just under five miles. Along the way you'll see the ragged coastline and roving Tule elk herds that make this the essential northern California coastal hike. The trail is roughly 4.8 miles one way with some sandy terrain with very little elevation gain.

We’ll cap off the hike with a fun social picnic and delicious world renowned Oysters in the Drakes Bay – From Drakes Bay Oyster Farm which is located inside the park. This 80 year old oyster farm is at risk of closure! I don’t know how long they can keep their operation so I’m very motivated to go there as often as I can before it’s gone.

The hike should be no more than 5 hours long, we’d like to be on the way to the oyster farm by 3:30pm. The picnic area and seating at Drakes bay is very limited so this meetup will be limited to 20 people. Please, RSVP ASAP as I have advertised this meetup at another group will fill up fast.
